I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Across the road from the Seymour Centre The Duck Inn is agreat venue for pre or post theatre dining. The staff are friendly and accommodating and made room for us on a busy Saturday night.

The proximity to Sydney Uni and the Seymour Centre makes for a busy weekend venue full of happy diners. The pub can be quite noisy due to the lack of soft furnishings but happy noise is good noise. There is a good range of craft beers and there is an extensive predominantly Australian wine list.

The decor is clean and bright with some quirky features such as board games, birdcages, lounges and duck decorations. As it was raining we did not get to see the outdoor dining area. Children are catered for with coloring equipment and a children's menu.

Delicious duck dish

The menu has something to suit most tastes and is not full of theusual pub grub. They also have blackboard specials as well as daily dining deals. In the spirit of the name I chose the duck main and loved the modern twist on an old classic. All the elements went well together and were perfectly cooked.

Steak & mushrooms

Surprisingly the steak and portobello mushroom was even tastier, unfortunately, the picture does not do it justice. The red wine jus was delicious and the whole dish was very filling and flavour some.

The Duck Inn is happy to cater for all types of functions and they hold trivia nights on Tuesday nights.
