The popular art, culture and environment festival is back!

The Hays Inlet Festival is held from Friday 30 May to Thursday 5 June across the Redcliffe Peninsular and Pine Rivers Catchment. The program is jam-packed with adventurous water activities, fantastic tours, fun learning experiences, fabulous music and exciting performances. So come and celebrate the Hays Inlet catchment and its waterways!

Friday

Celebrate the beginning of Hays Inlet Festival on Friday 30 May with Opening Night Celebration. There's going to be music, guest speakers, food and environmental displays to keep you busy throughout the evening.

Saturday

Local community groups will gather for Concert for the Koala to celebrate these furry animals. There's going to be great live music, fantastic food and drinks and even a chance for you to get up and boogie!

Cost: Gold coin donation

Thursday

Birds of a Feather Closing Night Celebration will close the Festival with a bang. With great live music, drinks, canapés, raffles, auctions and photo competitions, you'll have a fabulous time.

Saturday

If you're interested in Native Plants of the Hays Inlet Catchment, then register for the guided tour of the Redcliffe Botanic Gardens. You'll see the wonderful transformation by the local community groups and Moreton Bay Regional Council. What was once a cow paddock is now a picturesque natural wonderland. Plus pop by the Community Nursery to pick up some native plants for your garden.

Adventurous visitors can join in the Canoe Adventure Tour. Discover the wildlife on the Pine River, soak up the sun and learn about the importance of these catchment corridors. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Tuesday

Walk through the Hays Inlet Wonderland and learn about the eucalypt forest, melaleuca forest, casuarina forest and saltmarsh flats. You'll see wildlife as well as different kinds of mangroves.

Where: Duffield Road Animal Refuge, Clontarf (Tuesday) & Henry Pieper Park, Chelsea Street, Kippa Ring (Thursday).

Wednesday

The Hays Inlet Boat Cruise will be a relaxing way to discover local fauna and flora. Make sure you soak up the beautiful surrounds as you listen to the fascinating guest speakers.

Saturday

Love horses? Then you'll love Intro to Happy Horses and Healthy Land. Select the right pasture and food for your horse and learn more about horse nutrition. Mariette van den Berg is the equine expert who will share her knowledge on how to plan for horse establishments. And stick around for Management Plan for your Horse Property.

Sunday

If you have a creative flair then come and learn how to make your paper bunting at Papermaking with Water Creature Watermarks with local artist Lesa Hepburn.

Monday

For dancing of a different sort, head to Biggah Gunyah Aboriginal Dance Experience. Learn the historic aboriginal dances followed by a delicious supper.

Tuesday

The Coastal Wetland Research Science Night is your opportunity to hear the latest research on the waterways and coastal wetlands.

Saturday

Be part of the community project - Bushcare Community Tree Planting. Get your hands dirty and plant some trees in the Chelsea Street Environmental Reserve.
When: 9am
Where: Chelsea Street Environmental Reservel, Leisel Drive, Rothwell.

Come and build Possum Boxes and Nature Mobiles using recyclable natural materials. Everything will be supplied for this free community project so just bring yourself and get ready to have fun.

If making things isn't really your forte, then why not lend a hand with Catchment Clean Up: Tinchi Tamba Wetlands? You'll also find out about mangroves and mudflats at low tide followed by a scrumptious free afternoon tea.

For those who have kites at home collecting dust, or would like to have some fun flying kites, join Kitepower Australia in Family Fly Day.
