I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
The three day Hawkesbury Show is a family-oriented country show with both competitions and entertainment. It's hosted by the Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association and will run from Friday May 9 to Sunday May 11. Oh, and did I mention the show is 128 years old?
With this year's event set to be just big as any other, you know it will be good. There's one of the biggest sideshow alleys in the country to explore and over one hundred exhibitors whose businesses and produce should be checked out (you can find a list of them here).
The entertainment schedule is pretty varied too, with precision driving, extreme motocross and horse shows taking place every day. Lawn mower racing, Scottish sports, a grand parade, fireworks and other events are also spread across all three days.
Of course, you can't forget the showcasing of the districts' finest products, which is a major part of any country show. Livestock, produce, photography, art, flowers, handicrafts, dogs, cats, poultry and more will all be on show, and sure to make you proud of the skills in your area.
Entry to the Hawkesbury Show costs $22.00 for adults and $11.00 for children (but that prices goes down to $5.00 for any additional kids). Other ticket types as well as family combos are also available (click here for further details).
The shows is open from around 8.30am to 9.30pm on the first two says (Friday and Saturday) but on Sunday the activities stop at 5.00pm. That gives you plenty of time to get the family together and head over, with the event suitable for the young, the old, and everyone in between.
