Sun 21 May 2023

The Hawkesbury Regional Museum is turning fifteen and to celebrate this birthday you are invited attend a family fun day in Windsor on Sunday 21 May 2023 from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

There will be plenty of activities for the children, plus adults will enjoy live music, tours and delicious food. To attend this FREE event, you need to register through Eventbrite . No transfer of names is allowed; however, if you cannot make it on the day, please cancel your attendance.

There are some terms and conditions to adhere to, so if attending the following is what you have agreed to by registering.

  • Do not attend if you have any flu-like symptoms!
  • The Museum events may be photographed, and images used for promotional purposes on Council's websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. If you do not wish this to happen, please advise the staff.
  • Must register through Eventbrite to attend.

  • The Hawkesbury Regional Museum is a Visitor Information Outlet as well and carries a large range of maps, walking guides and brochures on the Hawkesbury region. The Museum shop specialises in historical publications, films, gifts and books, which is especially helpful, if like, me you are searching for family history in the area.

The Hawkesbury Regional Museum is historical in itself as it is located in one of Australia's oldest settlements and the third on the mainland after Sydney and Paramatta. The Museum holds artefacts that cannot be found anywhere else like the celestial globe owned by international and renowned astronomer, John Tebbutt who lived his entire life in the area and the diary kept by a member of HMAS Hawkesbury during World War II and recording the Japanese surrender.

The Museum is made up of a purpose-built building and historic Howe House, which is of Georgian build and fitted out with furnishings and displays that reflect uses over more than two hundred years of history.

Entry to the Museum is free; however, if you wish to accompany any group guided tours , there is a small fee. For more information on tours or the Museum, please call 02 4560 4655.
