Giant slide, obstacle course, and indoor water park
For Hawaiian Holiday Fun, head to Sleeman Sports Complex in Chandler. Until January 25, 2013, the Aquatic Centre will transform into a wet and wild playground with an inflatable obstacle course and giant slide. Kids can balance and bounce their way along a fifty metre obstacle course (think Wipeout for kids) or climb the diving tower to make a big splash off the seven and a half metre high inflatable slide.
Fridays are disco days when the indoor twenty-five metre activity pool becomes a Dive In Disco. Listen to the latest music, ride the slide, play games, and win great prizes.
Hawaiian Holiday Fun runs on weekdays from 12pm to 2:30pm. While these activities are open to all age groups, the inflatable slide has a height restriction. Children must be at least 130cm tall. And children under six years old must be accompanied by a parent or carer on the obstacle course.
We went to Sleeman during the week and while our six year old and nine year old were too timid to try the big red slide, they did enjoy the obstacle course. But after queuing in line for half an hour for a turn, they didn't want to wait again. Instead, we headed to the activity pool which has an enclosed fifty metre water slide (with little line-ups) and a small water park with waterfalls for toddlers. The girls were quite happy here playing with their four year old sister and the big, bouncy beach balls available.
Kids are who confident and competent swimmers and who don't have a fear of heights will love the obstacle course and inflatable slide. Otherwise, I'd recommend the activity pool and water park.
Entry to Hawaiian Holiday Fun is $6 per person including all school holiday activities: obstacle course, inflatable slide, and disco. It also includes admission to the activity pool area.
Entry to the activity pool area alone is $4.80 per person, or $14 for a family of four plus $3.50 for additional members. The enclosed slide is open from 12pm to 2:30pm on weekdays and from 1pm to 4pm on weekends and public holidays.
I took my 12 year old, 10 year old and 2 year old here a couple of weeks ago to the disco Friday and they had a ball.
The obstacle course, slide and jumping castle were a big hit.
Definitely something we are planning to do again before the end of school holidays. Also pricewise wasn't very expensive.
