I'm a music enthusiast and foodie looking for new places and experiences.

Haven Tailoring Coffee Joyously is a serene conveniently located cafe beside Central Station on Chalmers St. As a popular brunch spot for many, we decided to try this establishment on a very rainy day prior to heading to uni.

Perhaps one of the most picturesque and popular dishes are their variations on Hong Kong egg waffles. As we were also relatively hungry, we also ordered their signature kimcheese pork belly burger in addition to two egg waffles.

I was overall very happy with the service from all their staff. We were greeted pleasantly and ushered to our seats quickly.

Our table was very clean and we were efficiently served with table water and the menus for our perusal.

The pork belly in the kimcheese pork belly burger was a good soft texture and was beautifully presented in the pristine white dish.

Our two other orders were dessert dishes: black sesame and banana chocolate egg waffles. The black sesame egg waffle also consisted of mochi which was perhaps the highlight of the dish.

The egg waffles itself were a little flavourless and bland to my liking.

The deep fried banana and chocolate egg waffles were much more intense in terms of flavour and would have provided people with a sweet tooth a very satisfying dessert. However, for my group, the sweetness was a little too much and we could not finish this dish.

I would have to say that this was a rather pleasant dining experience because of the friendliness of the staff and the ambience of the cafe. However, in terms of brunch spots for the sake of the food quality, I would not return to Haven in the near future unless it is to perhaps try a different burger or take another insta-worthy photo.
