The Havianas Australia Day Thong Challenge is an annual event hosted on top beaches in NSW, WA, QL, VIC and SA. It involves members of the public registering online, for $25, claiming their inflatable thong and taking to their designated beach to celebrate Australia Day and try and win their state the title.



Last year Bondi broke the world record with 2068 inflatable thongs in the water for NSW. As NSW are the current Australia winners, Perth's inhabitants will be rushing down to Cottesloe this year to try and support their state, and no doubt heading up to the Cottesloe Hotel for a huge session and party later on.

Anyone can register online at Havaianas Competition site as long as they are aged 14 or over, anyone under this age must be accompanied by an adult. This is the seventh annual festival and Havaianas have stayed true to their vow that $10 of every registration will go to a state's local Nippers Club.

All in all a great way to celebrate your Australia Day with friends and family down on the beach, whilst helping out with a life saving charity.
