What do you do on Australia Day? Are you looking for something fun, exciting and achieving? Then Havaianas Thong Challenge would be the one. It is an annual Australia Day event that challenges for the world record.



In WA, the challenge was held in Cottesloe beach. It was a very hot day, yet the water was cool and so many young participants and families were there. Everyone got their giant golden inflatable thong and enjoyed swimming and sun bathing.



The challenge started at around 11:20am. Before it started, the staffs asked every participant to be out from the water and line up behind three archways, different coloured with green, orange and red. The challenge started with a whistle. Everyone jump on the inflatable thong one after another and swam toward the rope already set in the ocean. When everyone was gathering together in the ocean, it looked like a golden wave. Cottesloe broke the world record in a total of 2210 giant inflatable thongs.


Apart from the challenge, there were free giveaways, other fun competitions and music by famous DJ. This would be a memorable school holiday event or one day entertainment after the long Christmas holidays.
