On the top of Post Office Square you will find the newly opened restaurant Hatch & Co. It is actually the third such restaurant, the other two being in Teneriffe and Garden City.

Inside you will find a large bar with walls of wines and spirit bottles. The furniture is blonde wood tables which are spread out enough to feel comfortable. The decorations are interesting, large glass jars full of different types of pickled vegetables. At the back you can look straight into the open planned kitchen and watch the chefs at work.

The menu is both homely and eclectic. There is a combination of slow cooked meals someone's grandmother probably made, but mixed with flavours and foods you might not expect. Take the opportunity this menu offers to try something slightly different.

I took the opportunity to settle back with a taste of homely Devilled Eggs and Vegetable Root Crisps with Goats Cheese for something different. I have no idea what half of the cold crispy vegetables were, but I'm pretty sure that the green leafy thing isn't a root vegetable. The taste of both dishes was sensational.

There is great disabled access to the restaurant. A good bonus was that the table height was just a little higher than normal, meaning Mum didn't have to take her feet of the wheelchairs foot plate to fit comfortably underneath.
