After its successful debut in 2021, and a break in 2022 due to COVID-19, returns in 2023 with an extended season.Proudly supported by the City of Swan, Harvest will run from Thursday 16 February to Sunday 5 March 2023 and offers an exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes to experience the Valley like a local!Over three jam-packed weeks, Harvest will see the Swan Valley's growers, makers and producers celebrate the season's delights with boutique tours and tastings, masterclasses, long lunches and dinners, gin events and more.
Come along with your family and friends and see how grapes are picked, get messy at a traditional wine stomp, try your hand at making nougat with native ingredients, or experience the sights and sounds of wineries in the midst of their new wine vintage.More than 25 businesses in the Swan Valley will open their doors, stands, vineyards and fields for an exclusive range of activities. Harvest 2023 Highlights include: The Grape Stomp Off at the Naked Fox Wine Lounge & Cafe: Saturday, February 18 Get your feet sticky at this free ticketed event, acting as a curtain-raiser to coming back to taste the fruits of your labour at Swan Valley Espana on March 5. [BREAK Marron Feast at Swan Valley Station: Friday, February 24]Tuck into marron fresh from Swan Valley Station's own lake as part of its inaugural marron catch. Enjoy this freshwater delicacy served with a combination of dipping sauces, and a side salad of fresh Swan Valley vegetables.[BREAK] Grape Picker for a Day at Harris Organic Wines and Spirits: Saturday, February 25 Spend a day in the life of a grape picker at a small organic winery, picking grapes in the cool of the morning. Learn tricks to help you pick efficiently and participate in the grape stomping. Once the work is over, relax over a light grazing board, paired with a glass of wine.[BREAK] Upper Reach Harvest Lunch: Sunday, February 26 Chef Ryan Fels has sourced the best local fare for a long table lunch showcasing Swan Valley produce across seven grazing courses, including Swan Valley sweetcorn puree with Shark Bay prawns, culminating with a Whistler's dark chocolate and peanut butter tart.[BREAK] Old Young's Kitchen Harvest Festival: Sunday, February 26 Eat well and drink better at the ultimate gin-tastic Sunday sesh. From lunchtime to sundown, Old Young's Kitchen will transform into a gourmet festival with live bands and DJs, spirit tastings and cocktail masterclasses.[BREAK] Honey Harvest at The House of Honey: Sunday, February 26 Have you ever wanted to extract your own honey, see inside a real hive or pour your very own jar of WA honey? Don a bee-suit and head into the hives where you will get to extract a frame, and cut and pack your own comb of honey before heading off to spin your own jar of honey![BREAK] Authentic American Barbecue: Discovery of Smoked Meats at Gryphon Smokehouse: Sunday, February 26 Take a journey through an authentic Kansas City American barbecue experience of favourites such as beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and pork ribs, all smoked using fruit woods from retired trees in the Swan Valley. Sides will include cornbread using locally grown, seasonal corn, and honey butter made with Swan Valley honey.[BREAK] Harvest Fresh Produce Tour: Sunday, February 26 Join this special Harvest experience and let Mr Shuttle introduce you to some favourite growers and local providores in the region, before whiling away the afternoon with a vineyard platter and optional tastings at Pandemonium Estate.[BREAK] Tapas and High Cheese Heaven at Holy Mary Cellars, Feb 18-19, Feb 25-26, March 4-5 Munch your way through a selection of three wine-matched tapas tasters, followed by a glass of fortified wine and a WA 'high cheese' plate. Plus, join in the age-old harvest tradition of a grape stomp (March 4-5 weekend only).
