A fun day of running, local food and wine

The 2017 Harvest Run is coming around quickly... so, for anyone that missed out on all the fun of last year's inaugural event, make sure you get in quick, click this link NOW! Register your details and don't get left on the couch.

Last year a friend and I participated in the inaugural 6km Harvest Run event and we had such a great time running in the event, and spending the rest of the day exploring the stunning Yarra Valley that we've both signed up for the longer challenge this year and can't wait. In 2016 we both managed to walk away with 3rd place in male/female events, but we'll be happy just to take in the beautiful scenery this year as we wind our way past TarraWarra Estate, Zonzo Estate and Yarra Track Wines vineyards towards our destination of Yarra Glen.

Our happy finish at last year's run

There are two fantastic distances to enter. The long 13km course, which is a point-to-point run from Healesville to Yarra Glen (which includes a return bus transfer in the cost of entry), and a 5.5km short course, which is an out and back run/walk from the Yarra Glen Racing Club.

Long Course details:
13Km point-to-point run
Start time: 9:15am
Start: River Street, Healesville
Finish: Yarra Valley Racing Club

Short course details:
5.5Km run/walk
Start time: 9:00am
Start: Yarra Valley Racetrack
Finish: Yarra Valley Racing Club

Entry Fees: Both are priced at $50 standard entry, $55 late entry and $60 for on the day entries.

Your event registration gets you:
The Harvest Run race entry & course support loo's, H2O, km markers & more.
Warm up pre-run
Finishers medal bling
Post race freebies & treats from our event partners
Access to our Event Village music & entertainment, photo wall, wine tasting & more.
Optional Harvest Run Cheese & Wine Duo
Optional Harvest Run Picnic Hamper

After the run you can sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere with a glass of local wine or cider, a cheese platter and some great live entertainment provided between 10am-12 noon.

Oh and don't forget some spare cash because last year I picked up some great running clothes and shoes at a bargain price from Sole Motive's tent.

Looking over Yarra Glen

Afterwards we decided to make a day of it and enjoy the beautiful Allowyn Gardens in Yarra Glen, which you can read more about here....and because it's next door to the Yarra Valley Choclatrie it would've been a shame to miss out on a Madagascar Vanilla Bean ice cream. YUM.

Alowyn Gardens in bloom last year
