Ferran Adria of El Bulli fame was recently at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Perhaps an unusual venue for a chef, he is one of the most respected chefs of modern times and the fact that he chose this venue is not at all coincidental. He was making a point that there are so many things that connect food and art. He aspires, through his own El Bulli Foundation to offer more to the world on this topic, not least the production of an online site called Bullipaedia, which will be accessible to all. It was a fantastic coup for GOMA. Hosting one of the most famous chefs in the world, talking to a captive audience about feeding creativity.

This is tied into the Gallery's wonderful innovative programme along with its new exhibition, called Harvest, which will take place from the 28th of June to the 21st of September, celebrating all things connected to food in art and film. The Harvest Exhibition will be a celebration of food in art, in film, in talks and publications and dining experiences. There is an opening weekend on the 28th and 29th of June with a number of talks and events planned, then guided talks 11am and 100pm from June 30th.

The publication from the exhibition, which will be available in late June, is also called "Harvest". There will be recipes from Australian chefs, but also some international stars such as Rene Redzepi of Copenhagen's Noma and Peter Gilmores Quay restaurant in Sydney. The special pre-order price for this publication is $39.95
