Harry's is a fully licensed cafe located on the main Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd, half way between Kalorama and Olinda. (A few of you might remember it as The Ladyhawke Cafe).

It is housed in what was once a private residence, which means cosy rooms with an open fire place. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious.

I took my 11 year old grandson there a couple of week-ends ago when it was particularly cold and damp. I enjoyed a coffee, while my grandson hoed into a huge fluffy pancake, smothered in caramelised bananas, syrup and ice-cream - it cost a tiny $6.50.

Then we looked at the board games on offer and decided to play scrabble. It was a lovely way to while away our time. Their menu also includes gluten-free and vegan friendly options. Prices range from $10-$30.

On a warmer day, you could enjoy sitting out-side watching the bird life, of which there is plenty.

Check out special events and exhibitions by going to their Facebook page .

While I was there in July, there was an exhibition on by the artist Scott Darling, a member of the Sherbrooke Artists Society. They are taking bookings for a special Father's Day lunch on Sunday September 1st.

Highly recommend a visit.
