I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Harrison's Food and Wine is an intimate fine dining restaurant on Tudor Street Hamilton that serves up an ever-changing menu of fine dining delights. The owner/chef Tony Harrison likes to showcase the excellent seasonally driven produce of the Hunter region at dinner or the more relaxed lunch.
The small space is quirkily decorated with dinnerware reminiscent of family dinners in the 1970s. The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their food and wine offerings. The seafood dishes that we had were of the highest quality and perfectly cooked.
Tony will visit your table a couple of times during your meal and is happy to discuss the menu, suggest wine pairings and answer questions. He told us that they can adjust the menu to cater for dietary requirements and preferences.
I was happy that I only had to decide on drinks but since we dined at Harrison's they have changed their service style to offer choice amongst the courses and different pricing of $63 for savoury, and $73 if dessert is added.
Harrison's is well worth a visit or two in order to sample their ever-changing menu.
