This playground has been recently upgraded with new play equipment, Located in West Beach, you can see this playground and its big grassy area from Seaview Road. There is no bus passing through this area, but you can reach this playground by bicycle and this playground is just in the middle of the bike path from Glenelg and Henley Beach. There are plenty of parking spaces just beside this playground for your convenience.
The playground has an area for toddlers as well as for big children with 2 playground structures with one aimed more for children aged 1 to 3 year olds and another structure for aged 3 and plus children. There are swings for baby and toddler and a big children's swing as well as a swinging basket for everyone to enjoy. The flying fox and a spinning wheel seem to be favourite when we were there.
Grassy area and also some seating areas provided for perfect picnics. If you were in a hurry and didn't have time to prepare a picnic, don't worry as West Beach Chicken & Seafood and Cafe Neptune are not far away. There is a shady area under the big trees but most of the grassy area is open without shade. Don't forget to bring a hat and put on some sunscreen before heading to this playground.
The downside of this playground is you have to walk a bit to find a toilet as children usually need a short distance toilet if they need to go. Another thing is there's no fence around this playground so watch your children carefully as the playground is just beside the carpark area and close to busy Seaview Road.
Pack your picnic, climb on the monkey bar, play chasey on the grassy area - there is something for everyone at Harold and Cynthia Anderson Reserve West Beach Foreshore.
