The City of Marion Libraries invites you to a free film screening of
The Song Keepers. It will be held on Friday, 24th March 2023, at the Cove Civic Centre, 1 Ragamuffin Drive, Hallett Cove, from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.
Come and celebrate Harmony Week with this special screening which follows the visionary of the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir.
These song women from obscure churches of remote Central Australia have preserved a hidden musical legacy of ancient Aboriginal languages, sacred poetry and baroque music. They have made historic tours to Germany, taking back the hymns given to their great grandparents by German missionaries now sung in their own Aboriginal languages.
So come and see this inspiring film as they share their music, stories of cultural survival, identity and cross-cultural collaboration.
