In honour of
Harmony Week (15 to 21 March, 2014), the Town of Bassendean is hosting the inaugural
Feast community event on
Saturday 15th March, 2014, from 5.00pm to 9.00pm.
Supported by Lotterywest, all are welcome to attend this free community event which celebrates cultural diversity with an array of live music and traditional dance performances and a bustling hawker's style food market.
The entertainment line-up will include performances from some of Perth's best cultural performers, including the Miracle Band (China), Tani Walker (PNG), Selendang Sutra Dance (Indonesia), Blue Sky Soul & the Trevor Jalla Quartet (Polynesia/Singapore), and JoTHe Bollywood Dance (India).
Local Bassendean artist Nami will also be presenting a Japanese Wishing Tree as an all age's creative art project and everyone is encouraged to join in and make a wish – for longevity, good health, or prosperity.
And throughout the afternoon and evening some of Perth's most in-demand food trucks will be cooking up a feast of tasty international fare. There'll also be a 'spice hall' style outdoor eating area, with vintage furniture for diners to relax and enjoy their meals.
Entry is free and there will be plenty of street parking available nearby.
