When children explore the playground's various tunnels and towers, they'll find that the different surfaces sometimes 'ring', 'whir' or 'thunk'. They can jump across a set of tyre stepping stones, which play like an accordion or beat upon sections of fence that have been tuned to sing like chime bars. There's a massive concrete tube which becomes a howling echo cave for squealing youngsters and a wooden path network to challenge them as well.

For those less musically inclined, they can occupy themselves in the cubby house shop or climb aboard the wobbly boat. They can choose to get their hands dirty operating the levers of the sandpit digger or by turning the wheels of the popular sand conveyor belt.

An important feature of the park for parents are that there are clean, well-maintained toilets facilities near-by. There are also dedicated picnic tables and functional water fountains. The playground is surfaced with chip-bark, rubber and astroturf and has been built with sun safety in mind, so it has are plenty of shaded areas.

The car park entry for is located on Gaffney Street, and the playground is easily accessible from there for prams, wheelchairs and visitors overladen with the eskies, change bags, sports equipment and the childrens' bicycles.



Adjacent to the playground is a grassed area which can accommodate a kick of the soccerball or football. Within the same site but set away from the playground, is a busy skatepark, almost permanently occupied by teenage trick skaters and BMX riders who provide great spectacle by launching themselves into the air.

Coffee, cold drinks, lunch rolls and sweet treats are available after only a short walking distance.

O'Hea's Bakery and Deli on O'Hea Street is well known by the locals and will provided you with sustenance during your day out at the playground.
