Every year on March 21, Australia celebrates Harmony Day, a day to respect all the different people who call our country home. In Hornsby, a special festival will be held to celebrate the message, though it won't take place on Harmony Day itself. Instead, it will be held later in the month, on March 30.
The event will be a street festival, running from 10.00am to 5.00pm in Coronation Street, near Hornsby Station. It will have all the usual things you would expect from any festival--food, music, dance and stalls--but they will all represent the diverse cultures Australians come from. There will also be other attractions and rides for the kids (details on these activities have not been released, so you should check here closer to the event if you are looking for more information).
Hornsby doesn't often hold street festivals so why not take this opportunity to have a fun day out with your family and learn a few things about the culture of some of your neighbours, whether they by the traditional owners of this land, those who have come from overseas or anyone else who makes up the Australian population.
