Give the kids some money to go and buy you a present, while you spoil yourself with a creative workshop for an hour. Or sign up the children to give yourself some precious solo shopping time. Child-free shoppers like me may appreciate some light relief amidst the last minute rush.
There are more than 80 hours of free activities on offer between 16 and 24 December 2013, which is massive.
I love the sound of the Reindeer Craft Workshops, which will be happening outside the Fila store near the south-western entrance. You need to book if you want to take part. Sessions will be held at 11 am, noon and 1 pm on each day from Saturday 16 to Christmas Eve.

Xmas Ornament Making Workshops will be taking place at the same times on the same dates. These will be outside the Equip store, in the south-eastern corner of the complex. Again you'll need to book.

If you aren't an advance planner, or the session you'd like is full, you don't have to miss out. There will be Caricature Drawing outside Adairs from 11 am to 2 pm each day and no bookings are needed. Adairs is directly opposite the central entrance.
Chances are that this will be a caricature artist at work, rather than caricaturing workshops. However it may whet your appetite to try some caricature drawing yourself. Or your children's. If you're lucky you might be able to pick up a 'How to Draw Caricatures' book for loose change at The Book Boys in Harbour Town. Whether or not you are a budding artist, getting a caricature done would make this a Christmas to remember.
