Harbour Town is a really cool place in the Docklands, in Melbourne's CBD which is only a short walk from Southern Cross Station and can also be accessed by various tram routes.
Harbour Town is a big outdoor shopping mall, with heaps of different shops such as sporting stores, stationary, clothes, kid stuff, and accessories. I was literally blown away with how cool it was, as I had never been there before until the weekend.
Something really great about Harbour Town is that they have a snow field for kids to play in, they provide buckets and spades and it's free all day. It's not actual snow, but the kids don't know the difference. It's a good place to go if you can't afford to take your kids to the real snow.
Something else I never knew about Harbour Town is that there is a mini amusement park there as well including those big bubble balls which float in water, a roller coaster, and a few more fun rides for the kids. My boys were happy and surprised to see the amusement park, and had fun on the rides.
Overall, Harbour Town is a good place to go with family, friends and the kids. Also if you have family or friends coming down from overseas or interstate, take them to Harbour Town - they'll love it.
I love Habour Town. A great place to shop some great bargains, the best variety of shops easy to access via public transport or lots cheap car parking unlike further in the city where it is quite expensive. I believe Habour Town is like an beautiful undiscovered gem of Melbourne. The past 3 years I have completed practically all my Christmas shopping there. A beautiful place to shop and eat for the day. HIGHLY RECOMEND TO ANYONE THAT DOES NOT LIKE THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF MELBOURNE CBD.
