Having heard all about Tasmania's scallop pie, I was determined to try one while in Hobart. So, the opportunity came when I found open for lunch on my last day. The cafe is indeed a hidden gem popular among the locals.

After navigating our way up the spiral staircase, we were promptly seated and given the menus. Ordering was easy as we already knew what we came for - the traditional scallop pie and premium wagyu beef burger. The scallops in the pie were beautifully cooked in a mild curry sauce and the pie pastry was crispy. The wagyu beef was juicy and topped with cheese, beetroot, tomato, rocket and caramelised onion.

is located at 29 Morrison Street along Hobart's waterfront, not far from Parliament House. Their friendly service made us feel very welcome and I'm sure you'll find the same too.
