Restrictions are easing, allowing my local library to re-open recently though on a strictly limited basis. I cannot tell you just how thrilled I am to be able to update my reading material.
Yes, I have been borrowing digital books in order to retain my sanity during isolation, though my preference for many reasons is paper format. Old school, I know.
So do you know what it was that came to my rescue me during these bizarre times when we left our homes for essential purposes only? A little bookshop on the south coast of New South Wales, 1000 kilometres away, that delivers orders over $60 at no additional cost.
The Harbour Bookshop in Ulladulla is a family operated, independent bookstore, which has been in business for twenty years, and includes an ABC Centre.

Why have I been supporting this bookstore over others closer to home? The South Coast suffered economically and environmentally over summer because of the apocalyptic bushfires which drove the tourists away. We all know why there wasn't any tourist trade over Easter, don't we? Unable to travel south for the moment, if spending a few dollars online at a bookstore in a community that suffered a double whammy this year is of assistance, then I'm all for it.
The website is easy to manoeuvre, which makes the ordering process simple. You can even order gift vouchers, which sure beats shopping in crowds wearing a mask, and the selection includes new releases and the popular genres.
And I repeat: FREE Delivery on orders of $60 or more!
Situated at Shop 5 Rowen's Arcade, 93 Princes Highway, Ulladulla, The Harbour Bookshop is once again open to walk in trade, though self-distancing rules apply.
Current opening hours are :
