With the phenomenal success of the Happy Place in the cities of Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Happy Place pop-up has now taken up residence at the Broadway Shopping Centre in Sydney.

Happy Place Pop-up imparts a lot of happy to an otherwise typical inner-city roof top carpark, featuring larger than life whimsical installations and multi-sensory immersive spaces to tantalise your photographic desires. It definitely ticks the boxes for your social media accounts whilst providing an experience suitable for all ages.

We arrived on a Saturday morning and had plenty of time to take in and admire the installations in each space whilst being ushered by the helpful (and happy) attendants who each provided valuable assistance for capturing that perfect 'Insta' moment.

Starting with a slide through a gumball machine, the kids ran straight for the complimentary gummy bears appearing next to the now ubiquitous bottle of hand sanitiser.

From time to time, it was somewhat challenging to take happy snaps without the odd photo bomber! But once you settle into the pace of the venue, you realise you can move back and forth through the various spaces and return to some favourites if you want to retake the moment from a different angle. There was even ample time for kids to try a few experimental jumps and poses.

My youngest couldn't wait to fling himself into the jumpable "Pot of Happiness" ball pit for the umpteenth time. His expression of pure joy as he leapt into a giant ball pit was priceless. Mr T was especially enthralled by the rubber ducky bathtub, chains and the confetti snow globe. The family loved the Confetti Dome, throwing confetti bombs at each other and capturing the moment where half a million little pieces of brightly coloured paper swirled around us in slow motion was a sight to behold.

I was particularly taken with the 40,000 golden handmade daisies Super Bloom room, Cookie room and the bedroom on the ceiling. I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect from the Happy Place Pop-Up and whilst it somewhat reminded me of a 3D trick eye photo tourist attraction you often come across in parts of Asia, it has a greater focus on bringing out that inner joy that only jumping into a ball pit can provide.

It also provides ample space for youngsters such as Mr T to run around touch and play and of course the opportunity to curate some beautiful happy snaps. Happy Place pop up is basically a big warehouse with different themed rooms and installations (some better than others) that the social media savvy will love. It also provides a fun experience for families with young kids, so if you go, keep this in mind and you won't be disappointed.

HANDY TIPS
- Be sure to arrive within 5 minutes of your scheduled time slot or you forfeit your admission. Available for purchase are jaffles galore, slushies, shakes, tea, juice and confectionary and souvenirs of course.

- Don't forget to remove shoes and any loose items before jumping into the "pot of gold" or you might find yourself having to go fishing.

Before or after your tour, grab a bite to eat at on the dining floor with a plethora of food choices on level 2.

As there are no toilets on the 4th floor, so I recommend that you go to the amenities on Level 3 before heading into the Popup.

Bring your cameras, phone to take lots of happy snaps and allow yourself 45 mins to an hour. Rest assured the pot of happiness is regularly cleaned and confetti is regularly replaced.
