is another one of my favourite shops when I go to the Caulfield markets. I stopped and chatted with Alijan before devouring his beautiful offerings of dried fruit and nuts. It is not my first time. I also catch them at the Abbotsford Markets, one of the many markets where they have a stall.
is a family owned business that has been around for twelve years. Alijan and his brothers are organic farmers who grow and dry their own fruit. They supply to the local bakeries and other retailers and saw an opportunity to package and sell their own produce direct to the public around seven years ago.
You can certainly taste the amazing difference between their fruit and what comes out of the supermarket. There is NO comparison, and its almost an insult that I even compared the two.
It is not just fruit that they sell, they also have the freshest nuts and you can find almonds, walnuts, cashews and pistachios at their stalls. Alijan hands out generous amounts of fruit and nuts to taste in little white cupcake papers to everyone.
Imagine my delight when I tasted their prunes for the first time. It was nothing like the packed stuff and tasted just gorgeous. Generally the only time I buy prunes is to help keep things regular, when required, if you know what I mean. I guess I'm one of the minority that looked at prunes as medicinal rather than for pleasurable consumption. I think they just might have managed to change my perception.
Check out their
webpage to find out where they are at and which market they are going to be at next, for their wonderful produce.
They also welcome wholesale and retail sales. Put a little sunshine on your lips and enjoy the organic purity of .
