My husband and I decided to drive out to Samford Village for some brunch action on the weekend and we had the best time.
After parking the car, we scoured the main street for a place that tickled our fancy and came across Happy Berry House. Immediately, we were were drawn to its spacious outdoor dining area. It didn't take us long to decide that this was our brunch destination so we went in, grabbed a menu, snatched a cool spot under the umbrella outside and began studying the menu. The menu had the usual cafe items including burgers, sandwiches, pies and salads. Nothing really jumped out at me so I decided to go with a salad which was perfect on a hot summer day.
I was a little disappointed to find out that the pumpkin salad was unavailable as they were out of pumpkins. Nevertheless, I was quite happy to replace it with the chicken Caesar salad. And my husband got the BLAT (bacon-lettuce-avocado-tomato) and a nice cool ice tea.

We sipped on our drinks as we waited for our food, which didn't take long at all.
Overall, I thought the food was great. The egg on my salad was perfectly poached, the flavours were great, and the croutons were heavenly. They were extremely generous with the dressing which made the whole salad a little too salty for my liking, and I also would've preferred the chicken to be in larger slices. I know, I sound like a snob, but I like munching on big chicken slices in salads.
The BLAT was awesome. It had plenty of fresh ingredients with all flavours perfectly balanced. It made my husband very happy indeed.
The price was pretty reasonable, servings were generous, service quite efficient and food was of great quality. I loved the relaxed and casual atmosphere this place had and I wouldn't think twice about coming back.
If I lived around the area, this is the place I'd come knowing that I could curl up on one of the wicker couches to read for a couple of hours. So if you're in the area one day, drop in for a meal and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
