Satisfy your cheat day cravings
Hanson's Pizza Bar has been around for over 40 years, consistently serving up a diverse range of pizzas, pasta and more. They're especially popular for late-night dinners and group gatherings given they're open daily from 11 am - 5 am and contain ample seating space for crowds. What about dinner for one? There's a TV screen on pretty much every wall, so wherever you're sitting, you're still bound to have some entertainment.
Each time I've been the service has been consistently friendly and prompt. I've tried a bit of everything from their menu so far and without fail, the portion size is so large I've struggled to finish things even when I was sharing. Talk about bang for your buck.
Exhibit A is a classic post-gym or cheat day feed. The chicken was about 2.5x the size of my hands and probably could have been stretched out to three separate meals. The heavy cheese and saucy topping can become unctuous quickly which is why I've become that person that orders a salad at the pizza bar.
This plate of fresh veggies was truly a breath of fresh air. I've read reviews where there were soggy bits but personally, I haven't experienced that myself. My only wish was if the salad dressing came on the side, so I could control the level of seasoning.
Crust with a firm, crisp bottom is the way I like it and they nailed it here. The toppings were mediocre though (my opinion still counts even though I like pineapple on pizza right?). I wanted more cheese and this was the first time I've added salt on my pizza.
If you really want to make the most of cheat day despite bulging at the seams from the mains, they also do cakes and gelati here. You'll have to tell me if it's worth ordering, I'm usually too stuffed by then!
