Hanson Palace now has a meal deal in which you get to choose an entree of either Chicken Feet, XO Tripe or Steamed Dim Sums, and three dishes from a selection of mains, all for the price of $39.80. The meal deal also comes with a complimentary cucumber salad to sate your hunger while waiting for the dishes to be served.
We selected Steamed Dim Sums, Fish Fillet in Sweet Corn Sauce, Braised Beef Brisket Hotpot and Szechuan Eggplant for our family dinner. To our delight, the fried fish fillets in their Fish Fillet in Sweet Corn Sauce were fried to golden brown, with the batter coating being a good contrast to the flesh. The sweet corn sauce gave the dish a delightful slightly sweet taste and the sweet corn kernels provided a bit of extra texture.

The quality of the Braised Beef Brisket Hotpot was excellent, with meltingly tender chunks of beef briskets complemented by the slightly chewy pieces of beef tendon. The sauce the ingredients were cooked in brought out their flavour without overwhelming them. There were also pieces of bok choy hidden under the beef to give a bit of freshness to the dish.

To balance out our meat dishes, we went with Szechuan Eggplant as our vegetable dish. The eggplant had the right amount of bite to it. The sauce had enough spice to lift the eggplants' flavour but was yet mild enough that it can be enjoyed by those not used to spicy foods. While not mentioned in the description of the dish on the menu, the dish also included pieces of chicken which were cooked to perfection.

The Steamed Dim Sums offered as one of the side dishes were the Shu Mai on the restaurant's Yum Cha menu. To complete the experience, you can request for soy sauce or chilli sauce to dip the dumplings in.

If you like seafood, Hanson Palace also has a "deluxe" meal deal which is available for $59.80. The serving staff informed us that the selection of main dishes in this deal is more focused on seafood. These meal deals remind us of similar deals offered by Tan Nhu Y Restaurant. If you are looking for a good deal to enjoy a delectable range of Chinese food, consider dropping by Hanson Palace for a visit.
