Enjoy a field trip close to the city with a visit to Hanging Rock Winery, a scenic estate full of charm - and top notch booze.

Hanging Rock Winery

With the Macedon Ranges serving as a backdrop, the winery is a picturesque spot to relax and sample the local produce. The wine range is extensive and can be tasted in the bustling sampling room over-looking the vineyards. Bottle prices range from around $14 to $115 and include the labels Hanging Rock, Macedon, Heathcote and ODD ONE OUT.

Being just minutes from the eerie hanging rock formation for which the winery is named, it's a good idea to stop by and settle your nerves if you have any strange experiences while picnicking nearby...

Yes, I have had a drop of their red and it was a good red. We went for one of those wonderful day trips up to Hanging Rock and stopped at the town general store, who have their wine for sale along with all types of delectable tasty foods and other things.
