Come and enjoy an incredible travelling exhibition of a giant, handmade glass mosaic scarf. Over 100 South Australian artists have been part of this international project to support Afghan women and girls. The project is backed by the UN International Year of Glass (UNIYOG22) and involves over 1200 artists from 46 other countries. The panels are uniquely beautiful, feature intricate patterns, and rich colours and are all emblematic of traditional Afghan outfits and culture.

Join the official opening of the Hanging by a Thread exhibition at Parks Library, 46 Trafford Street, Angle Park, on Friday, 16 June 2023, starting from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. You will have a chance to meet the team involved in this beautiful international project. Bookings are essential to attend this exhibition launch and can be made here. Exhibition will be at Parks Library until Thursday, 29 June 2023.

As part of this exhibition, Parks Library will also be hosting a Mosaic Workshops. You can make your own glass mosaic piece in this unique workshop while finding inspiration in the mosaic scarf on display in the library.

Please book your FREE spot through this site for session special for adults that will be held on Tuesday, 20 June 2023, starting from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm. Youth-focused mosaic workshop designed for young people aged between 14 and 25 years old, will be held on Sunday, 25 June 2023, starting from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Please book here . It is recommended that participants aged 14-16 are accompanied by an adult.
