To celebrate the opening weekend of Melbourne International Film Festival, MIFF, in conjunction with Handpicked Wines is giving away 30 Plenary Passes. This will enable a lucky group of cinema-loving people the opportunity to win an all-you-can-see double-pass for their opening weekend at The Plenary!
These handpicked movies will be from the 1st to 14th August 2019.
For the first time in its history, MIFF will take over The Plenary at the Melbourne Convention and Entertainment Centre for the opening weekend of the festival. This will create an extraordinary cinematic experience for audiences, reimagining the movie experience for 2019. The festival has brought in three mammoth 12-14 metre screens, and a state-of-the-art sound system, which will turn The Plenary into a dream for cinema lovers.
Plenary Pass Terms & Conditions
A Plenary Pass can be used as a total of 8 tickets, across single or multiple standard sessions that take place at plenary at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre only.
A Plenary Pass is not redeemable for the MIFF Opening Night Gala, Hear My Eyes or Thurston Moore in Conversation events.
A Plenary Pass is not redeemable for any MIFF session that does not take place at The Plenary.
Plenary Passes cannot be refunded either in full or part.
Tickets booked on a Plenary Pass can be exchanged online for an exchange fee of $1 per ticket, or in person or over the phone for $2.50 per ticket. Exchanges close 2 hours prior to session start times.
For just $96, you'll get eight tickets (which is $12 per ticket) that are redeemable for any standard plenary session. See eight films yourself, bring seven friends to one session or take a date to four films – the choice is your choice.
The opening weekend screenings include the best of this year's Cannes Film Festival. As well as the world premiere of the Adam Goodes documentary The Australian Dream Harmon Korine and Matthew McConaughey's outrageous collaboration The Beach Bum; and the brilliant Judy & Punch. Then there will be the cinematic experiences such as sensation Sampa The Great; live scoring Girlhood and The Wheeler Centre's in conversation with Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore.
Then to order the end of the cinema experience, The Plenary will come alive with the Handpicked Wines Pop-up Winery Pidapippo and food offerings from Posh Brioche, The Dough Truck and Wedgies.
