Handmade meets the Arts is an opportunity to learn more about the thriving, local arts scene. This vibrant community event is held three times a year with the next event taking place on Saturday 28th of April, 2018 at Old Redcliffe Fire Station. Entry is FREE.
Co-founded by Janice Charlish and Janmaree Lowe, Handmade meets the Arts brings Love Handmade Markets together with Moreton Bay Arts Council to showcase the local creative talent to the wider public.
Moreton Bay Arts Council is a passionate voice for local and regional creative groups and individuals in both visual and performing arts and is always looking for ways to support the creative community. Collaborating with Love Handmade Markets provided another avenue to do this.
Love Handmade Markets created Handmade Redcliffe, Redcliffe's first handmade markets, and are known for presenting amazing markets across the region.
Held from 10am to 3pm, marketgoers will be treated to over sixty stalls throughout the venue, plus great food, live music and art demonstrations!
Love Handmade Markets will take over the front lawns with handmade soaps, childrenswear, felt creations, jewellery, macrame, upcycled wares, handbags, homewares, jams, chutneys and more!
There will also be opportunities to meet members of Moreton Bay Arts Council, such as local artists, wood turners, ceramicists and creative groups.
Make sure to visit the Redcliffe Pottery Group's studio and pop up shop as well. Redcliffe Art Society Gallery meanwhile will play host to a collection of stalls offering locally made art and live demonstrations.
If you are feeling creative, you can join Love Handmade Markets free pom pom and Mother's Day card-making workshops.
Handmade meets the Arts is sure to be an inspiring day for all! Come along with family and friends on Saturday 28 April 2018, 10am to 3pm, at the Old Redcliffe Fire Station, 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. For all the latest on the event and to plan your visit, please follow the Facebook page.
