Keeping clever hands busy
There's a great opportunity to explore many hand-made items at the Moreton Bay Arts Council's Handmade Meets the Arts Market Day at the Old Fire Station on Oxley Avenue at Redcliffe on Saturday February 25th. It is on from 10 am to 3 pm and it is FREE to attend the event.
You will be able to explore a grand range of works of art – including jewellery, pottery, sculptures and original paintings. You can meet the potters and if you would like to try your hand at pottery, ask about the classes. You might even have the opportunity to try your hand on the pottery wheel - or perhaps your two hands!
Meet the Designers wood art, glassware and textiles. Other crafts including rug making, knitting, needle work, handmade cards and shell art.
Additionally you can visit the Art Gallery and Shop, and enjoy a range of foods including hamburgers, sausage sizzle, garden salads, sliders, quiches, home-made slices, scones, cheese cake (are you getting hungry?), fruit salad and food demonstrations. Tea, coffee and cold drinks are also available.
