New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
Handmade homewares, fashions, food & fun
The Handmade Market, held at the Exhibition Park in Lyneham, is a popular market showcasing local and interstate designers and producers of fashion, homewares, baked goods, jewellery, gourmet foods, stationary, furniture, toys....if you can make it by hand, they will have it at the markets.

Held four times a year, the markets have grown in popularity from 34 stalls in 2008 to now 185 stalls in 2015. It now attracts over 20,000 people over the course of the market's weekend. The two organisers, Julie Nichols and Rachel Evangelou have won several awards for business, design and tourism due to the success of these handmade markets.
Due to the success of the markets, the organisers have also opened up Shop Handmade in the City Walk in the city, to connect local talent with their customers. If you enjoy the markets, why not visit the shop next time you are in the CBD to see more up and coming local designers and support their work.
The Handmade Markets this September will be an enjoyable way to spend the day as you wander through the stalls admiring the creativity, skill and imagination of the talented people of Canberra and other parts of Australia.
For this market they have called out for more food stalls for their indoor gourmet food hall, so there will be even more yummy foods on offer to enjoy as you wander around.
One thing is for certain, you won't be leaving empty handed!
