Hoorah! You know I love markets. The ever-popular Handmade Expo Market is on again in Toowoomba and it's FREE entry. It's on Sundays between 9am and 2pm. It is held at Harristown State High School off South Street and has both indoor and outdoor stalls (so weather isn't an issue - it will still be on). It's going to be an amazing day with lots of Christmas specials.

A huge selection of over 70 diverse stallholders will be showcasing their handmade creations. There are so many talented artisans and creators who will be in the school's auditorium and outside in the gardens around the hall. There's a huge range of children's clothing, jewellery, plants, activities, toys, macramé and lots, lots more. You are sure to see some fantastic creations that will make the perfect Christmas gift. Shop local and support the makers bakers and creators. The market is exclusively Handmade/Baked/Grown along with a few quality crafting supplies for you to create your own 'handmade experience'. This is a unique high-end market with artisans who create with passion.

Food You will have lots of choices of food to fuel your shopping frenzy. My favourite is the traditionally-made wood-fired pizzas with fresh bases. Yum! And don't forget the home baking - you'll find fudge, baklava and sweet treats to eat there or take home. Don't miss the Highfields RSL who will be along to run their charity BBQ to raise much-needed funds.
I am addicted to buttons and so I am also addicted to "Addicted to Buttons". I have several pieces of button jewellery (like many marketgoers, you do become addicted to them - the markets and the buttons). But what I am lusting after at the moment are their Christmas decos - resin stars with buttons embedded - so original and in a variety of colours to suit your Christmas theme. You need to check them out.

Another of my favourite stalls is "When Laura Meets Clay". Her polymer clay fairy garden supplies are whimsical and beautiful. She does an adorable "faux fairy garden in a toolbox" which would be the perfect present for your fairy-mad little one (or yourself). She also has the cutest sea creature creations, miniature tea sets, unicorns and mushies (so many that there's not mushroom).

Andrew van der Beek, Market Co-ordinator, explained why this market has grown in popularity and is a 'must do' for many Toowoomba locals. "We opened the gates...with the goal of providing a forum for local and exclusively handmade artists, designers, bakers and talented crafts people to showcase their talents and that remains our focus today," he said. The commitment to allowing only handmade products is the point of difference for the Handmade Expo and it continues to flourish while other markets have fallen by the wayside.
