Lantern Ghost Tours Paranormal Investigator Jacqui says: "There is a strong [paranormal] presence at O'Reilly's. Staff have found furniture move of its own accord in the cafe while reception staff have seen the apparition of a woman that has even appeared in a guest photo. Halloween is a prime time for paranormal activity to occur as the veil between the living and departed is at its thinnest".
Spooky history Visitors to O'Reilly's Rain Forest Resort have reported eery forms emerging from a chilly fog in the library and reception areas. Some have seen a ghostly caretaker wandering the grounds, while others report sighting of spirits linked to the Stinson aircraft that crashed in 1937.

Halloween traditions - old and new Halloween's origins date back 2 000 years to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain when animals were slaughtered and crops harvested in preparation for the long, cold winter months ahead. The Celts adorned themselves with animal skins and lit fires and bonfires to ward away evil spirits. Those who had lost loved ones would leave food and drink out for the departed and light candles to help them find their way to the spirit world.
But it isn't all doom and gloom. In Ireland, matchmaking cooks hide a ring in a bowl of mashed potatoes on Halloween night...the diner who finds the ring finds true love.
