Sunset Family Walk in Bayside
There is something quite magical about packing a small rucksack with a blanket to sit on, water bottle and torches and headed off on foot to watch the sunset with your loved ones.

Every few weeks as a family we set out to walk from Sandringham to Half Moon Bay across the sand to set up our picnic blanket to watch the sun setting behind HMAS Cerberus at Half Moon Bay.

The walk there is great fun for the kids as you can walk the shore line hugging the Red Bluff Cliffs arriving at Half Moon Bay in about 30 minutes, just enough time to work up an appetite for Fish and Chips from Cerberus Beach House.

Walking along the beach to Red Bluff cliffs

When we arrive we set up our blanket and order or fish and chips then all sit together to eat as we watch the birds frolicking, dog walkers pass us by and the sun setting for the day.

Once we have eaten and the sun has set we pack up and get our torches out to prepare for the leisurely stroll back along the tops of the bayside coastal trail. The path takes you through the bushes and over the cliff tops - great fun for kids armed with their torches.

This is a magical, fun walk and picnic spot for all the family and one that is now a regular family activity we enjoy here in Bayside.
