Come watch Tracey Turnbald on The Corny Collins Show
The Adelaide Youth Theatre presents Hairspray the Musical, based on the book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, adapted from the 1988 John Walters film and recreated in the 2007 film of the same name staring John Travolta, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer and Amanda Bynes.

It's the story of Tracey Turnbald, a teenager who dreams of dancing on The Corny Collins Show. She goes to the school with the cast, but isn't in their league. She rushes home after school daily with her best friend Penny to watch the show staring her crush Link Larkin.

After one of the original cast has to leave the show, they are looking for the next big thing. Tracey has the voice and the moves so she auditions and gets in. She becomes a regular on the show even though it angers her mother. Overnight she transforms from an outsider to a teen celebrity.

Now she has to keep up appearances, try to win over the love of her crush Link while creating integrated diversity on national TV. Can she do it?

Featuring all the hit songs from the movie including Good Morning Baltimore, Big, Blonde and Beautiful and You Can't Stop the Music.

Hairspray the Musical will run at The Arts Theatre during August. Don't miss your chance to see this amazing production live on stage.
