And the most relaxing head massage in Melbourne
My hair after the hairdressers work their magic at Hair Place Station Street Box Hill
Would you like to feel good? And I mean really good? Every time I leave Hair Place a little tucked away secret hairdressers in Station Street Box Hill, I feel totall great. I feel like a hair model flicking my tresses in a wind tunnel.
It has to do with the total experience. I normally resent the time it takes to get my mop of hair tamed into some kind of semblance of order.
But at Hair Place, I never resent one second and am forever telling my friends to check it out. In fact, the secret was passed on to me by a friend of mine in the first place.
The secret is in the head massage and it's heavenly. It seems to go for about half an hour and then when you have finished not one, but two hairdressers blow wave your hair so you are soon sent on your merry way with your tresses billowing behind you.
The way they operate means that the bulk of your time is spent getting this amazing head massage. And what price a good head massage? Maybe $20-40 in some of the Chinese massage places that are in Box Hill or well over $50 elsewhere in Melbourne.
The cost of a blow-wave which includes this wonderful massage is $35 at Hair Place at least for collar length hair such as mine.
As for having two people work on your hair, there is no unevenness. They seem to wordlessly know what the other one is doing on the other side.
I am sure I could ask for my hair blow waved a certain way, but I love the way they do it differently each time if I don't weigh them down with too many instructions. I've been straight and curly, turned under and flicked up. They always surprise me in a good way.
I tend to go there when I am feeling really stressed because I know I will walk out feeling relaxed and happy and that feeling is priceless.
While this blow wave is moderately, even cheaply priced compared to the rest of Melbourne, I do go to other places when I am tight on funds.
On Monday to Wednesday you can get your hair blow waved at the Francapellia Academy near Hawthorn Station. The students are often already working in salons a few days a week and do a great job. The charge for a blow wave is only $15 early in the week and generally I have found the process quite quick. I also like the Wella colours they use, which seem to be very enriching for hair.
For other cheap places to get your hair blow waved in Melbourne see my article the [LINK=https://www.weekendnotes.com/cheapest-blow-dry-melbourne/]Cheapest Blow Dry in Melbourne [/LINK. I have to get mine done every week because it is too thick to do myself so I have become the mistress of many inexpensive options. Note that a lot of helpful readers have also put some other great places in the comments section of this article - some of which I plan to try myself.
But for the best head massage in Melbourne, try Hair Place Box Hill. Or if you have any other tips for readers and myself, please put them in the comments section.
