Haig Park Village Markets at Braddon is a new weekly farmers market which
launches on Sunday 7 February 2021 and will be open
every Sunday from 8am to 2pm from thereon. The market will be nestled in the leafy grounds of Canberra's Haig Park on the Braddon side: where Lonsdale street meets Girrahween street, just behind Canberra's late-night staple, the Mandalay Bus. The markets are pretty central with many transport options to get there.
See here for location and public transport options. Pooches are welcome, as long as they're on a lead. Open rain, hail or shine, dress weather appropriate, and follow the market's ethos to be plastic-free. You're encouraged to bring your own reusables eg. keep-cups, shopping bags, water bottle etc to help take the load off our lovely planet.
Most of the stallholders have Eftpos facilities available but there may be some who don't. It's always best to make sure you have some cash with you, otherwise there are a number of ATMs within a few minutes walk. If you'd like to be a part of the market as a
stallholder,
see here. Stallholder applications are now open, so if you have a stall that sells delicious food, fresh produce, divine sweets or anything else that gives people those happy market vibes,
apply here or send an email to

If it's a diverse array of fresh, quality products and produce from local and regional producers and businesses you're after, you can now get it every Sunday, rain, hail or shine. Know that you're buying direct from local farmers and producers when you're picking up your fresh produce, beautiful blooms and a range of artisan bread. Make a morning of it with delicious snacks available in the surrounds of beautiful Haig Park. This is not only a great place to get fresh produce weekly, but where people can be a community and spend the day connecting with each other, the stallholders, and learn about the food they eat. With a growing list of quality, local farmers and producers signed up to attend, organisers anticipate hosting some of the region's best stallholders at this weekly event.
A community within a community, it's a place to come together, get to know one another and celebrate everything that is local. There'll be live music, delicious food and places to relax at the market which will eventually also include a host of community initiatives such as workshops, discussions, and activities to provide a way for locals to connect. If this last year has taught us anything, it's about how important community and connection is to our health and wellbeing. So come along and celebrate a new vibrant farmers market filled with fresh, nutritious, quality produce and products at reasonable prices. A lively and community-driven market that seeks to become a destination for locals and visitors alike.
