Hahndorf Resort and Camping Grounds

Even the locals don't seem to know this place exists.
Arriving in Hahndorf, camper van in tow, we discovered we had arrived on a long weekend and all accommodation options were full.
We asked around for a camp ground only to be told none existed here.
I was adamant that we had camped here as children and that I had read somewhere there was one.
After much Google searching and useless local asking, we came across the Hahndorf resort. Fully decked out with endless self contained accommodation options, a huge on site restaurant and beautiful grounds.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that they also have a beautifully well maintained camping ground complete with laundrette, onsite power and amenities blocks.
It was peaceful, quiet and set beautifully on levelled out sites up a sloping hill.
The children raced off to watch the baby ducks and play on the climbing and play equipment whilst we made a cup of tea and sat outside gazing across the hills.
Finally, it felt like we were on a relaxing holiday.
Powered camp sites were around $27.50 for our family of four. And the staff couldn't have been more friendly and obliging, they even gave us discount vouchers for drinks and meals in town.
It is a lovely quiet place to take a break and a two minute car drive brings you right into the heart of town and many lovely shops and cafes.
If you prefer a more self contained option, there are plenty of cabins and even a full three bedroom house you can book.
