Do you enjoy other people's gardens?

Photographic artists Renata Buziak and Lynette Letic collaborated to provide a glimpse of various residential gardens in the Pine Rivers area. Their exhibition focuses on artworks, photographs and verbal stories which have been collected over the past two years.

Gardeners come from all walks of life but whatever their background their gardens can be a significant part of their lives. What they grow, be it exotic or imported specimens, natives, edible plants, or even ones of sentimental value can stimulate peace and tranquility, provide fresh seasonal produce, or be a place for family and friends to gather. A beautiful garden can create a sense of pride and achievement in the owner and encourage a connection to nature.

Residential gardens are also essential to the maintenance of biodiversity of flora and fauna within the region. Peter Storer, a member of the Society for Growing Australian Plants, will describe the principles he used to revegetate a typical Samford block (open pasture) to create a wildlife haven that abounds with birds, mammals, reptiles, frogs, butterflies and other invertebrates.

Other participating gardeners included artist in felt Wendy Bailye , Brad and Donna Davies, artists Venus and John Ganis , Helen and David Evans, Beth Garland, Elizabeth Kersh, Dianne Hodge, Elisabeth and Paul Scott, Mandy Garland and Jill S. Clair Jordan.
