It's a laugh

"Where are you going tonight?"

"Ha Ha!"

The name alone is reason enough to visit the Ha Ha Bar located on Emu Bank with views of Lake Ginninderra. The lake is another. Then there is the wonderfully eccentric décor - featuring enormous line drawings that call to mind 1920s jazz bars.

And then there's the food. Reading the menu is a kind of exquisite torture in itself. . .

Smoked Duck Terrine, Sweet Basil Panacota, crostini, micro herbs

Eastern Chicken, African spices, potato, asparagus, coconut and mango sauce

And the delightfully tactile sensation of

Strawberry Textures, panacota, mousse, berry gelato, salad and twirl

I enjoyed it very much - including the surprising smatter of popping candy crystals on the plate.

I disliked the stylistically undercooked lamb, and I ordered the wrong drink for my taste - which was a shame, because the drinks menu is marvellous too.
