If you want more dance tracks, to learn about dance artists and move, motivate, dance and pump iron to some legendary and/or modern tunes - then read on. Over the entire article is
enough information to find and build your own lists. If you want to think in terms of clubbing, then perhaps
this is more useful . The number of featured tracks allows me to give a good range of tracks and a bit of length to the playlist:
1. '
Movin Up ' by
Dreamworld - a search for 'Dreamworld - Movin Up' yields lots of remixes.
Dreamworld was a Swedish band and
Movin Up was released in 1995. They sing
Eurodance genre.
2. '
Ride on a Meteorite' (DJ Nefi Remix) by Antares - I've left the Antares
Wikipedia link here .
Ride on a Meteorite is their 'one hit wonder' - where the
DJ Nefi remix has pleasant tempo and effect. While searching for 'Ride on a Meteorite (DJ Nefi Remix) by Antares' I discovered a remix so good I added a link
here . It's supposed to be for a remix along the lines of what gets played at
a rave - linked it so people could read about/generate awareness of
the harsh reality of rave parties. I've got lots of styles in this playlist but quite simply, raves are so bad, that I'm educating against them, and while all this playlist's tunes help one move, they have subtle differences in effect. I wouldn't dissuade anyone from giving the headphones a rest or changing a song - it's bad for the brain to listen to rave music. Yet it's melodic enough to tantalise, hard to prove it's bad, but if one listens to it incessantly, my impression is it ruins one's brain.
3. '
Passion ' by
Amen! was a bit monumental for being such a chart hit and being played in so many gyms as well. Made by
a producer from Northern Ireland , but the overall production is very interesting in effect. A search for 'Amen Passion UK' brings up a plethora of remixes on
YouTube.
4. '
Contact; Iron Omnia , by
Jesselyn plus a few more quality tracks. I could write an entire review about this European DJ, but I've left a pumping song called
Omnia, even though she's much more revered for the songs
Iron and
Contact.
5. '
Sunshine After the Rain ' (1994) is a proper pop song by
Ellie Greenwich and remade by a U.K. artist called
Berri, should be familiar, in case you didn't know it, now you do...
6. '
Sensation ' - artist unknown. This is the best track in the list for pure movability, but for sheer obscurity, I've placed it low down the list. It's pretty memorable and well worth some promotion in the featured songs here. It's got a lot to do with a group with DJ called
Eurodacer. I've left a bonus megamix by
Eurodacer here . It's perfection in terms of more Eastern European tastes, hence a good global contrasting example - as shown by the
social media (Facebook) offering of
Eurodacer.
7.
N-Trance made this really well-known song called '
Set You Free' however I have left the link for
Electronic Pleasure for the moving playlist. It's dreamlike, yet a bit mean for such a happy-go-lucky playlist but has other things going for it, amazingly, the dancers aren't over the top, just a really dreamy tune and fun addition. Should be some links to other
N-Trance hits, such as
Set You Free on the song's
YouTube suggestions - depends on the particular device.
8. '
River Flows in You ' by
Jasper Forks. I've heard it played at
Fitness First - really progressive, catchy, modern, really deserves a higher place on the list, or, is it a great finale! Made by German dance music composer, DJ and producer
Alex Christensen, ends the playlist moving all the way to the last beat.
Left this as a bonus track - it's a Eurodance song, bit more alternative, still popular with two million hits.
Here's a list of artist names for searches related to gym-fit music:
Snap!, JX, Marcel Woods, Cosmic Gate, Milk Inc., Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Sash!, Tiesto, Pandora, Sonique, Motiv8, ATB, Sasha, Chicane, Paris Avenue, Ian Van Dahl, DJ Bobo , E-Type, Culture Beat, Paul Oakenfold (a.k.a Tall Paul), 4Strings, Avicii, Fragma, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, 2Unlimited, Pakito, Da Hool, Scooter, Alex Party, Darude, Push, David Guetta, Mobin Master, Bomfunk MC, Faithless, Eiffel 65, Love Inc., Corona, La Bouche, SM Trax and Tina Cousins.
Many of these artists are in very interesting careers/professions because many of them aren't world-famous but
still have significant amounts of fame and they take unique paths and have riveting things happen for them. There are also so many more unmentioned artists and songs, but the listed names help expand any techno/dance/trance/NRG/Handsup collection.
Steven G of
WeekendNotes wrote a great
article , which is a great link as it got me to get creative about playlist writing. I added my
bit on orchestral music as well, and my cool but underread article
on education in computing - for teaching us the sense (as opposed to irrationally attending rave parties) to try a career at Information Technology - all the above are nice alternative articles.
