Gyeongseong Creature: Season 2 – TV Series Review

The opening scene for Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 starts with the scene from the ending of Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 . The sparkly little nanjin (an ancient creature found inside a glacier on a remote island that can create another species of human that is fastest and strongest) is swimming in the water and cherry blossom petals are swimming amongst the water.

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 takes place in Seoul, 79 years after what happened in series 1 in 1945. Jang Ho-jae (played by Park Seo-joon), is a private detective from Bugang Company, that investigate an adultery case. His investigation was tempered by a mysterious woman who led Jang Ho-jae into a suspect in a murder case. Strangely, the mysterious woman mistakenly (played by Han So-hee) Jang Ho-jae as Jang Tae-sang, a master from a pawn shop called Golden Treasure, the man that she loved 79 years ago.

This mysterious woman is Yoon Chae-ok. After swallowing nanjin from Gyeongseong Creature, she is not ageing and still looks the same as 79 years ago. Jang Ho-jae curious why Yoon Chae-ok mistakenly him with another man. His investigation leads him to a monstrous experiment led by Lady Maeda.

Just like the first season, Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 offers lots of dark scenes that make you keep guessing what will be lurking in the dark. Starting from episode 4, you will see more about what happened 79 years ago. It is suggested to watch Gyeongseong Creature Season 1 before watching the 6 episodes of Season 2. Every episode will leave you curious for the next one, and make this South Korean drama binge-watch worthy.
