As part of the new development at Westfield Carindale, a number of new restaurants have been built. One of these is the popular
Mexican Taqueria - Guzman Y Gomez. With restaurants at the Emporium in the Valley, as well as the Wintergarden and Albert Street in Brisbane city, this chain is quickly taking over Brisbane.
The menu is fun and affordable and has a number of popular Mexican dishes that you will recognise. The hardest part is choosing what to eat. The first step it to choose whether you want a traditional burrito or a burrito bowl (without the tortilla), soft/hard taco, quesadillas or nachos and in what size. The second step is to choose your filling which include, chicken, steak, beef, pork, barramundi or vegetarian. There is something for everyone on this menu including people who have gluten intolerance.
As well as the larger meals, there are also burritos and quesadillas for the kids, and a steak or chicken salad option. Diners can choose to either eat in, or take-away. I chose to eat in and had the 'Steak Chipotle Burrito'. I thought about getting the mini size, but instead opted for the regular size. It arrived shortly after I ordered it, and it was huge and filled with tender steak, black beans, rice and salsa. It was so filling that I couldn't finish it off.
The prices range from $5.00 for children's meals, to $10.50 for a regular burrito. The restaurant is suitable for large and small groups, and has 2 large bench style tables that seat approximately 8 people.
