is a quiet suburban park nestled in the backstreets of Rostrevor, in Cambelltown Council. First time visitors are always enthralled by the massive Moreton Bay Fig trees that dominate the park, said by long-term locals to be oldest of their kind in Adelaide. The gnarled roots and twisted branches of these trees form a natural play land, where your own Peter Pan and Wendy can explore for as long as they please.

Neither is Captain Hook forgotten—nestled under the trees is a modern playground with one end shaped like a ship, complete with telescope and steering wheel. A long ramp provides wheel chair access to the top of the structure, and two slippery-dips enable a fast route down again.

is dog friendly, and between the hours of 6-10am and 5-8pm your canine companion is allowed to roam off-leash. There is plenty of open space to play ball games, including a basketball hoop with a concreted area in front.

Picnic tables, a drinking fountain, and a free barbecue enable families to bring some lunch and stay awhile, and for those who like to stretch their legs the popular Fourth Creek walking trail is just across the road.

I love this little park—it's full of character and is quite the hidden gem. The fig trees in particular are spectacular, and while there aren't as many as those on Plane Tree Drive (outside the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and Adelaide Zoo) they're more accessible for kids and better for climbing.
