The best spot for hanging in Yuksom
Probably the first place that will take your notice as you arrive into little Yuksom by shared jeep, this restaurant has tables in the sun outside and a palapa style covered section with a round table as well as seating inside.
The food here is distinctly average, although I did get lucky a few times. Surprisingly the spicy cheese pizza was very good and depending on the day, you may get a nice Puri Sabji but on occasion, the veg curry is not so tasty.
I feel a warning about the shakshuka is required – a fried egg on some tomato sauce is not what the picture in the menu promises and the momos are best left to the Tibetan restaurants nearby.
Still, it's a nice place to hang out, Mr Gupta has a friendly/grumpy vibe about him that inspires me to make him laugh (which works about half the time) and best of all, his little shop will sell you pretty much anything. If you can't see it in his packed shelves, just ask and if he doesn't have it, he will be able to point you in the right direction.
