Guns N'Roses, whose 1987 "Appetite for Destruction" remains the top-selling album ever reunited in April 2016 with their classic original line-up of singer Axl Rose and guitarist Slash for the first time since 1993. A long time between drinks, as they say.

The rockers who had reportedly passed up years of reunion offers amid previous bad blood between Rose and Slash - are touring North America and later planned shows in Latin America.

The reunion has gone so smoothly that longtime fans are quite surprised that the band ever starts on time. But it obviously has.

Yes,the rumours are true fans; Guns N'Roses have confirmed that after the Americas they will tour Downunder in February 2017.

The "Not in This Lifetime" tour will bring the band's founder, Axl Rose and band members Slash and Duff McKacan down to Australia for the first time in 25 years.

The band will perform tour dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth, with additional New Zealand dates a distinct possibility for Kiwi fans.

Back in July this year, Kiwi concert promoter Paul Dainty stated his latest challenge would be to woo Guns N'Roses to Western Springs in Auckland, but he remained coy about the details at this stage, but it looks most promising.

The original Guns N'Roses performed at Mount Smart in Auckland in 1993 to a fantastic crowd of over 52000 fans. Axl Rose returned to Auckland in 2007, this time playing in the newer Vector Arena, as the only original member.

Promoter Dainty's Western Springs venue of choice has previously played to some major names in music - including US Rapper Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Bon Jovi, the Rolling Stones and the late David Bowie in1983. What an impressive line-up of music royalty.

Kiwi concert promoters have been approached for comment about possible New Zealand tour dates later.
