Gunbae Chicken & Beer along Union Street in the Adelaide CBD is a bar where you can enjoy Korean Fried Chicken along with wine and various Asian beers. Though Korean Fried Chicken forms a key part of the menu, other small Korean dishes are also offered to provide a bit of diversity.
When ordering their Korean Fried Chicken, you choose from either boneless pieces or those with bones, with regular and large-sized serving portions available. The boneless pieces we ordered had juicy flesh, which was contrasted wonderfully by the crisp coating. The Sticky Soy Sauce flavour we chose had a delectable sweet-savoury flavour.

A flavour that comes to mind when talking about Korean Fried Chicken, the Yang Nyeom Sauce delivered a spicy flavour. The texture of the sauce was of a consistency that did not mar the coating of the chicken. The chicken came with pickled radish and a cabbage salad, though we thought the serving size of the radish could have been more generous.

Meaning "fist rice" in Korean, the size of the Joomubkap was perfect for devouring in one bite. We found the flavour to be best described as a Korean version of sushi with a bit of crunch provided by the cucumber that was mixed into the rice.

During lunchtimes, customers can order from a lunch combo menu which comes with a complimentary soft drink, with the choice to upgrade to beer for a bit of extra price. Its location near Rundle Mall makes it a convenient stop for those shopping or working in the CBD to enjoy Korean Fried Chicken over a few drinks with friends.
